As you may know, on July 15th 2012, The Age Run Melbourne Charity Event took place at federation square. Staff members, family and friends came along on the day to run the 10km marathon. Thousands lined the streets and attended the big day and whether our goal was to run faster, run further or raise funds for the charities, we all had an amazing day and are very proud of everyone’s achievement.

There is no denying the fact that running and walking are considered the purest exercising workouts. Initially we thought we would all be walking most of the way, but the environment that surrounded us and everyone’s energy really gave us a boost, so we all ended up running most of the marathon. Most of the team finished the 10k marathon in 01.20.45 which is an excellent effort. By the end of the marathon, everyone was feeling amazing and felt like they had done something great for the community. The feeling of completing such a big run really made everyone feel like they can accomplish anything if they really put their mind to it. The pain in our legs was yet to come!

The best part of the day was that it didn’t feel like a competition at all, but more like we were all a part of something bigger. Words cannot describe just how sensational the day turned out and just how sore everyone still is today.

We would like to thank the volunteers, sponsors and partners for planning and supporting such an amazing experience for all who attended. We would also like to thank the courageous coreplus staff members and their family and friends for taking part in the charity run and for donating. There has been over $1.7 million raised for charity and there is still time to do that final fundraising push and help us reach out as much as possibly to our charities. Donations close August 27th 2012.
